27-year old Shauna Arocho from Springfield, Illinois wasn’t expecting to be bullied when she went for some ice cream.

At the same time, she probably didn’t realize how many people would come to her defense after her public anti-bullying message went viral on Facebook.

Arocho, who has lost a total of 60 pounds since last summer and 40 this year, decided to treat herself at a local Dairy Queen with her husband.

However, the trip turned out to be a disaster.

According to the State Journal-Register, Arocho said a car full of men stopped in front of her and yelled, “Eat that ice cream, you fat b****!”

Understandably, Arocho was left devastated, and after composing herself upon arriving home, she decided to post a video on Facebook, explaining what had happened to her earlier in the day.

“I just don’t get what people get out of tearing other people down. You know nothing about my life or my circumstances. What if I had been in such a place that you saying that to me had made me go home and kill myself? I’m not in that place, but I could have been,” Arocho says in the above video. “I think people really need to start thinking about what they’re saying and what they’re doing before they do it,” she continued.

Shauna Arocho is absolutely right. Sadly, Team Rainbow Rabbit has had to post too many blogs about bullying situations that have led to suicide over the last several months. What if she wasn’t in a proper frame of mind and took her own life? She would be another casualty to the bullying epidemic that has taken too many lives already.

Instead, Shauna has turned her unfortunate experience into a positive one—by speaking on behalf of those who might not know how to confront their bullies or address the current situations they are dealing with.

Hopefully, more will see what Shauna did and end up doing the same!
